Digital Media Players | PVR

A digital media player is a small box used to player all your digital music (mp3), movies and photos on your big screen TV.  A HD media player or HDD media player (HDMP) is a generic term used for a category of consumer product that combines a hard drive (HD) enclosure with hardware and software for playing audio, video and photos through a home entertainment system. It can be used either as a conventional external hard drive, or to play computer-based media files through external media devices without the need for a separate computer.

The popularity of MP3 players means that many people have large collections of digital music that cannot be played on a conventional HiFi without proper hook-ups.  While the popularity of digital cameras means that many people also have large collections of photographs in formats such as JPEG. Many computer users also download media files from the Internet. A few years ago digital network media players were ugly square boxes that needed hiding under a pillow, but now that are slick high tech looking devices that will replace your blu-ray player, dvd-player, cd player and radio.

Make your home entertainment easy, and get a fully fledged digital network media player such as Apple TV, WD Live, Tvix 6640N,  Asus O!Play, or D-Link Boxee and pamper your eyes and ears.
